“Recollection” is a collective show featuring nine members of Get the Picture. This photographic collective brings together artists whose practice of post-documentary photography is related to working with their own personal fictions.
Every work presented in the exhibition can be seen as a collection, even if the very objects the artists are collecting are images. The photographers offer us fragmented memories, stories of their own making, moments of personal truth.
The exhibition layout focuses on the distance between the identifiable subject of the image and the projective power it contains. It examines our relationship to the photographic media, as well as to the image itself. We are free to choose its meaning, for ourselves, outside of any prescribed paradigm.
